NNNY – Day 2 – Rethinking the “New Year’s resolution” curse

I’m thinking about changing the name of this experiment to “Nothing New This Year”.

I got to thinking that if I subconsciously consider it a “ New Year’s resolution” then a.) wouldn’t that sound a bit weird come July, and b.) only 8% of people achieve their New Year’s resolutions (StatisticsBrain.com*)… and that’s from an optimistic standpoint; the converse being 92% failure and that is just way too discouraging.

However, I also learned from that same study, that if you write down your resolutions, you are twice as likely to succeed.

That still doesn’t help me decide, so I’ll hold off on that Earth shattering decision for later. And I still need to get the categories sorted, but that’ll be later too. (I so hope “later” doesn’t become my 2014 mantra.)
